PROJECT OVERVIEW

When Metabolize approached us, they were seeking a bespoke solution to bring their innovative health services online. Their primary goal was to offer weight loss injections like Wegovy and Mounjaro through a secure consultation process and to manage monthly subscriptions seamlessly. Additionally, they aimed to provide a variety of other health products to enhance their service offering to customers.

Having no prior branding, Metabolize entrusted us with creating their brand identity from the ground up. We developed their logo, crafted a cohesive colour scheme, and selected fonts that reflected their vision and mission. Scalability and ease of management were paramount concerns, as they anticipated significant growth and needed a platform that could adapt alongside their business. Embracing this challenge, we collaborated closely with the Metabolize team to develop a robust, user-friendly website that not only meets their current needs but is also poised for future expansion.

CHALLENGE 01
From Brand New Business To Custom Ecommerce Platform

Metabolize needed more than a standard ecommerce website. The project required a flexible platform that could support products, subscriptions, customer journeys, consultation forms and ongoing management from one central CMS.

A complex ecommerce journey that needed to feel simple for customers

Metabolize approached Verum Digital as a brand new company with no existing website, branding or ecommerce platform. They needed to launch with a professional online presence that could support health products, weight loss treatments, customer enquiries and a more controlled purchase journey.

The website needed to feel clear and trustworthy for customers while also being flexible enough behind the scenes to support ecommerce, subscriptions, consultation forms and future growth.

Verum Digital created the brand identity, designed the website and developed a custom ecommerce platform with Payload CMS at the centre of the build.

The website was built to support product management, consultation journeys, subscription workflows, customer accounts and admin control from one flexible CMS foundation. This gave Metabolize a stronger platform for launching online and growing the business over time.

CHALLENGE 02
Building For Regulated Subscription Growth

As the business grew, the platform needed to support more than standard ecommerce. Metabolize needed controlled product access, recurring subscriptions, affiliate tracking and fulfilment workflows connected to external systems.

Supporting regulated subscriptions, gated products and fulfilment at scale

Metabolize now manages just shy of 100 active patients at any one time through subscription-based product journeys.

Because some products are prescription-only, the website needed more control than a standard ecommerce checkout. Product access, consultation flows, subscriptions, customer accounts and fulfilment all needed to work together without creating unnecessary admin for the team.

THE SOLUTION

A flexible ecommerce system with subscriptions, product gating and fulfilment integrations

Verum Digital built product subscription functionality, controlled product access and customer account features into the ecommerce platform.

Product gating was added to support prescription-only medication journeys, helping ensure customers followed the required steps before accessing certain products. The platform was also connected to Blueco through API and webhook integrations, supporting fulfilment workflows between the website and the external fulfilment provider.

Additional ecommerce features such as affiliates, gift cards and admin-controlled product management gave Metabolize a stronger foundation for continued growth.

Giving The Team Control Through Payload CMS

The project also needed to give the Metabolize team control over the day-to-day running of the website, without making every change dependent on development work.

Metabolize needed to manage products, subscriptions, customer journeys, content, orders, consultation information, affiliates and ecommerce settings from a central system.

A rigid template or basic ecommerce setup would have limited how the business could adapt as its services, products and internal processes evolved.

Payload CMS admin tools built around the way the business operates

Payload CMS was used to create a flexible admin foundation for the website. This allowed key areas of the platform to be managed from one place, including products, content, customer journeys, subscription-related workflows and ecommerce settings.

The CMS approach gave the business more room to manage day-to-day operations while still allowing future features, integrations and internal workflows to be developed as the platform grows.
